Another one for my beer garden mini-series here at One New Place!

Located in a little plaza on Georgia Avenue in the Petworth neighborhood, Midlands strikes me as less of a German beer garden and more of an outdoors sports bar.  Something about it (Oh, I don’t know—maybe the “Go Michigan!” banner?) wasn’t exactly channeling a German vibe.

Also, do they have

dart boards and corn hole in German beer gardens?  Because tonight was obviously the Wednesday night men’s corn hole league. (Can’t make that up!) When did that become a thing?  Next thing you know, marbles and lawn darts will be making a comeback. Ain’t no nostalgia like corny game nostalgia.

Anyway, as I wasn’t playing corn hole, and as the whole place was a little loud, and as it was late, I did my obligatory exploring and then left without even getting a beer.  #Sad
