July 21 – Nice Cream (ONP #202)
I am not sure what evil forces of the universe conspired to open an ice cream shop only steps from my house. But as today just happened to be their grand opening, and as I just happened to be walking by, I figured I might as well make this new neighbor my New Place for the day.

The whole experience was both edifying and delicious: Turns out they have a unique method of making ice cream—they pour liquid nitrogen
into mixing bowls that contain the cream, and, voila!—it freezes right in front of you! The whole procedure creates a rather dramatic, witches-of-MacBeth effect, with steam rising from the cauldrons of the mixing bowls.
As science was never my best subject, I will probably have to go back multiple times to further study and grasp the concept. . .
