Today was the tipping point: 183 places seen so far this year (one every day), and 182 more days to go! Halfway to my goal!

As for today. . . When the weather is hot, hot, hot, (triple digits here in DC!), I explore where it is cool cool cool. That’s why today found me at the pool pool pool!

But the real story is that I actually found this pool, after a couple unsuccessful attempts in past years. Somebody had once told me it was next to the Whole foods, so I kept looking for a secret entrance somewhere between the Whole Foods parking lot and the Smoothie King. Pro tip: Look up the real address and use a GPS. If you do that, it’s a bit hard to miss– big as a football field.

Pretty slick place, this pool–an entrance lobby overlooking the large pool area; three pools, jacuzzi (hot!), leisure pool, and not-so-leisure (lap!) pool. I enjoyed the first two,

Doing something the first time is always hard–I stumbled about a little learning the ropes, but now that I know where to sign in, to bring towels (forgot that today), and a lock (forgot that today), I’ll feel like an old hand for my next visit, which I hope will be soon!
