July 5- Newark Street NW & Thomas Mann Elementary School (ONP #186

I was actually headed to another New Place today, but when I pulled onto this side street to park, it seemed so nice (and new!) that I decided it would be my New Place for the day.

Newark Street is a short, sweet street, only one block long, but with an elementary school (and playground) on one side, and the National United Methodist church on the other side. vhildren had left touches of things behind– a little birdhouse hanging on the tree, garden plots, books in the little free library. And the church steeple was photogenic from various perspectives against the summer blue evening sky.

The other thing about exploring Newark Street: I drive by this road about three times a week, but never before today have I turned onto it. Today, when I did, I found it connects to another route home, and a short cut! Voila la New Place!
