Oct 7 – National Arboretum (ONP #278)

Fun outing today to the Arboretum with a whole gang of friends. Since we had all been to various points in the Arboretum before (me only once, to the main exhibit building), we headed to the Asia gardens and the pagoda, which was a New Place for all of us.(!!)

Many adventures were had along the way—many flowers admired, many stories told, many photos snapped (especially of the columns from the old Capitol building, looking like some classical Greek ruins).

There’s still plenty of Arboretum for me to explore on another outing or two, but here are a few images of today’s New Places, including a contemplation bench, twisty-trunk tree, and bird-pole statuary.

As for myself, I not only logged a bunch of New Places, but also a new personal best walking distance since my accident (1.7 miles!)

Oh oh, the places I’ll go. . ..
