October 6 – Sauf Haus Biergarten (ONP #277)
Another one for the beer garden mini-series here at One New Place! Sauf Haus wasn’t technically a garden at all, being located on the second floor, up a set of narrow stairs in a converted Dupont Circle house.
But to make up for that, it was festively done up: Flags festooned the ceilings, while walls (and tablecloths) sported the blue and white Oktoberfest diamond pattern. In lieu of a garden, a large wall of windows offered views of the neighboring rooftops and sky.
As for the important things, I’m afraid I can’t speak to the quality of the offerings: Once I got up there, I realized I had forgotten my wallet at home, so I took a few pictures and slunk away, thirsty and embarrassed. #Sad!
Oh well, another day, another beer garden. This is New Place #277—Only 88 to go!!
