In the middle of Pennsylvania farmland, surrounded by barns and meadows, with milk so fresh you can smell its producers as you stand in the parking lot–that’s where I found Grantville Super Market today.
I actually saw several new places today, traversing back roads as I headed back to DC. looking for something that would be my One New Place. But as many of the roads, had no places to pull over and take photos, I didn’t stop until I saw a sign pointing to this super market, off one of the more main roads. I knew I had not only found my New Place for the day, but also the perfect place to take my picnic lunch break, grab some water and a fresh apple.
I liked this little store—the old fashioned deli, the green and white checked floor, the two (2!) checkout aisles (compare that to the 14 or 19 at the megastores) and, like I said, surrounded not by strip malls but by pure country (air and all).
