July 30 – 2112 F Street NW (ONP #211)
The one good thing about catching on all these pesky medical appointments over the summer is that some of them are taking me to New Places—for example, today’s Hall of Mirrors. While seemingly a normal office building on the outside, the inside of 2112 F Street (with its double-mirrored gold entryway) place struck me as more of a cross between Versailles and a carnival funhouse.
I found the whole thing mildly amusing and confusing. I am not sure installing double walls of mirrors is a good idea in a building where patients with orthopedic injuries are regular visitors. Or maybe the orthopedic surgeons pay a little more for this feature? In any case, it’s memorable.
